About the event
This event is aimed at private forest landowners looking to manage their forest properties, as well as timber
professionals. By providing hands-on training opportunities and tangible resources, the goal is for participants to walk
away with applicable skills and knowledge they can incorporate with their own forest management activities.
Hosted by the Wild Rivers Invasive Species Coalition (WRISC), this event brings together a variety of natural resource
professionals from both Michigan and Wisconsin to present on topics such as invasive species ID and management,
forest management for wildlife, Michigan forest health report, forest pest updates, assistance program opportunities,
and more! There will also be an in-field northern hardwoods timber marking training led by Brock VanOss of VanOss
Forestry Services.
Refreshments will be provided, including a light luncheon.
Continuing education credits for SFI, SAF, and Michigan Pesticide Applicators will be available!
So far we have been approved for 4hrs of SFI credit, and 3 credits for Michigan Pesticide Applicator in Category 2, Comm CORE, and Priv CORE.
